Setting the scene:

India is a richly endowed melting pot of lifestyles, social and cultural customs as reflected in the Indian culinary cooking styles, arts and crafts. The name India is derived from the River ‘Indus’ and is a sub continent equal in size to Western Europe. India has many regions with a multi-ethnic population, different languages and traditions.

If the cultural heritage of a country is revealed by arts, craft and food then India would surely be very rich.

 

Ganesh is the Hindu elephant-headed god, Ganesha (or Ganesh) is known as the Remover of Obstacles, the god of domestic harmony and of success. He is the most beloved and revered of all the Hindu gods.

India possesses a tremendous diversity of climate and physical conditions and has a great variety of wildlife including the sacred elephant and majestic tiger – most magnificent of all.

A major influence on Indian Cuisine is the ancient Hindu treatise on health, the ‘Ayurveda’. Ayurveda deems diet to be a crucial aspect of well-being, with great importance accorded to the choice of foods and their preparation.
